Debbie Byrne

Debbie learned to play guitar when she was 15.  Her father brought one home and took group lessons in a city class, and she fell in love with it, learning everything he brought home from his class. She and her sister played together in churches as teenagers and would entertain at family and friends parties. She loved the folk music of the sixties and would play in folk circles, describing herself as an old hippie with a guitar. She retired from a career in finance in 2014 with more time to focus on guitar.  Her specialty is fingerpicking and finger style guitar.  She has been in the Laguna Woods Village String Band since 2016, is active with the Orange County Folk Circle as well as The Feisty Women.
